We are launching an accelerator program specializing in food and biodiversity in partnership with the worldwide food markets’ movement “Movimento Metropolitano”.
Movimento Metropolitano is driven by the vision to create sustainable community markets that go beyond just food. These markets are spaces for sharing, learning, and connecting through workshops, art, music, and community events. The mission is to build inclusive communities and sustainable local food systems, and to improve access to nutritious food for everyone. From the current four stores in London the movement is expanding globally, with Japan being one of the leading countries.

We are organizing an accelerator program for food and biodiversity.
Under the common concept of sustainability, we are calling companies and individuals in three categories.
Calling Companies and Individuals
We are recruiting a wide range of businesses that offer “natural”, “handmade”, and “sustainable” food and beverages. Company size and years of establishment are not requirement. Priority will be given to those companies that are interested in collaboration during Movimento Metropolitano’s expansion into Japan.
Examples of participating companies
Businesses offering natural, handmade and sustainable food and beverage
■ A start-up providing plant-based food and beverages for Generation Z.
■ A long-established business that has been operating for 100 years, offering additive-free foods and beverages, focusing on local ingredients.
■ A sustainable food subsidiary completely separate from traditional mass production lines.
We are recruiting startups developing technologies for sustainable food, ingredients biodiversity conservation. Our scope includes not only food and ingredients but also the cultivation of soil and ocean, technologies that promote behavioral changes among consumers and companies.
Examples of participating companies
Startups developing technologies to ensure sustainable food and biodiversity
■ Startups with technologies to measure, assess and improve environmental impact on water, oceans and land.
■ Startups with materials and processes that revolutionize existing food and beverage industry.
■ Startups with solutions that drive behavioral change among businesses, local governments and consumers.
We are looking for individuals with skills in launching new businesses and driving projects, who want to contribute to the expansion of the food and biodiversity ecosystem. There is no need to have specific products or services at the moment. Individual participants will be provided with opportunities for collaboration, side jobs, and outsourcing in sponsoring companies and startups.

The mentors were great. It was a great system to get advice from multiple mentors all at once in half a day.
No other accelerator focuses on ESG. I appreciate the ESG-focused perspective, which is rarely highlighted in other accelerators, because it is also important to our business.
